The flavours of the infused oils are not as strong as directly adding shallots or garlic, but are still quite nice and work really well in milder flavoured dishes or sauces/dressings that do not have a lot of stronger flavours to overpower the infused oils. Since I can tolerate a small amount of onion or garlic (as long as I’m careful about FODMAP stacking with other items such as fructans), for some dishes we have used a combination of the infused oils and a small amount of actual onion and/or garlic, which gives the best of both worlds, so that is a nice option for people who can tolerate some but not a lot of onion/shallots or garlic. Even on their own, they add enough flavour to keep dishes from being bland and uninteresting. If I could, I would make the flavours even stronger, but there is only so much you can get from infusing and I do think they have done an excellent job of optimizing that with this product.
